Steven Sinofsky has been making some moves since leaving Microsoft! He recently joined venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz as a partner and has joined the board of directors at Local Motion.
Sinofsky will be offering insights and experience to help Box advance their platform strategies. Box CEO Aaron Levie sent Sinofsky an unsolicited Facebook message several months ago and the two of them stayed in touch since then.
“Steven has a stronger and more fluid vision for the future of computing than almost anyone I?ve met. As we kept talking and sometimes meeting over Pho, I realized we had to get him involved with Box,” stated Levie. “In his 20 years at Microsoft, Steven managed some of the company?s most important products and services: Windows, Office, SharePoint, and SkyDrive, among other groups. He?s seen firsthand where the market has been, and more importantly, he understands where the industry is going.”
Sinofsky announced in November 2012 that he was leaving Microsoft. He joined Harvard Business School after that as faculty in the Spring of 2013. Sinofsky is teaching product development and is writing articles on that topic. Sinofsky will remain at Harvard while working for Andreessen Horowitz.
