Apple used a survey that they conducted in 2010 as evidence in the Apple-Samsung patent design trials.  The survey highlights why consumers chose Android over an iPhone.  Of the 43% people surveyed, consumers indicated that they chose Android so that they could stick with their carrier.  The study was conducted before Verizon Wireless launched the iPhone.  The survey revealed that 36% of those questioned had trusted Google while 30% preferred a device with a larger display.  About 27% preferred the Android Market and 26% wanted better integration with Google’s services.  Around 25% were interested in the latest and greatest smartphone.
