Writer and director John Herzfeld has turned to Kickstarter to get help finishing the film “Reach Me.” Herzfeld has put the fund-raising goal of $250,000 to finish the movie. Most of the movie is already shot. “Reach Me” is a movie about 12 characters that are affected by a book written by a football coach called “Reach Me.”
The stars in this movie includes Sylvester Stallone, Lauren Cohan, Ryan Kwanten, Terry Crews, Cary Elwes, Elizabeth Henstridge, Tom Berenger, Kyra Sedgwick, Kelsey Grammer, Thomas Jane, David O’Hara, Omari Hardwick, Kevin Connolly, Tom Sizemore, Nelly, Danny Aiello, Christoph Ohrt, Rebekah Chaney, Jillian Barberie, and Danny Trejo. When the investor pulled out after filming began, Herzfeld and producer Rebekah Chaney fronted the money themselves. There is still more money needed to finish the post-production.
Reach Me has distribution in place, but the film has to be delivered no later than mid-November. The highest bidders will get their song in the movie during a scene, an invitation at a red carpet premiere, an invite to the after party, a chance to spend time with John during post-production, an invitation to dinner with select cast members, a special training session with MMA Legend and former World Champion Urljah Faber.
Other film projects that have raised funding through Kickstarter includes a Spike Lee movie, a Zach Braff movie called “Wish I Was Here,” and a Veronica Mars movie.
