As the one out of the four major U.S. telecommunications companies that does not offer the iPhone, Deutsche Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile USA has announced their Q2 2012 financial results. Not having the iPhone has cost them dearly because they lost 557,000 customers from the postpaid plans.
In Q1 2012, T-Mobile added 187,000 new customers. The good news for T-Mobile is that they added 227,000 customers on the prepaid side of the business. I’m sure a good number of those customers have an unlocked iPhone.
T-Mobile USA’s Q2 net income is up 3.5% over the previous quarter, but that number is down by 2.4% from the same quarter last year.
