Target Corporation is preparing to launch a service that is like iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Redbox Instant, Walmart’s Vudu, and Google Play called “Target Ticket.”  Target’s employees have been testing out the service since this past May.  A public launch is expected to happen soon.

Target Ticket has around 15,000 titles, including TV shows, older movies, and new releases.  New movie purchases will cost $14.99 and the rentals will cost between $3.99-$4.99.  The Target Ticket apps for iOS and Android is also being used by beta testers.

Target Ticket will also be released on game consoles and set-top boxes.  Target Ticket will also be compatible with UltraViolet.  REDcard holders will also see discounts on rentals and purchases for Target Ticket.
