Tesla Motors
CEO Elon Musk spoke in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Thursday where he discussed returning the loan to the U.S. Department of Energy 9 years ahead of schedule with interest.  U.S. taxpayers have also made a $20 million profit off of Tesla.

The loan that was given to Tesla was a major focus in Mitt Romney’s campaign for President.  Romney bashed the Obama administration for the loan throughout his campaign.  The Bloomberg TV video below shows a clip about Romney discussing the negative aspects of the loan.

Fisker Automotive took a similar loan from the Obama administration, but now there are talks that Fisker may have to shed their assets for $20 million and file for bankruptcy.  Fisker still owes the government $171 million.
