Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk has hosted a dinner to thank the 2,100 Norwegians that bought a Model S vehicle. Unfortunately, there has been some charging issues in Norway because of the unique electrical system there. The dinner event took place in Oslo on Friday. It was attended by several notable guests like TRH Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit.
Norway is Tesla’s second largest market after the U.S. Despite the charging issues, the Model S reception has been very positive. The issue is believed to be caused by the tension variation in the Norwegian grid network.
Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk admitted “we fouled up” when involving charging problems in Norway. Tesla is now offering customers an over the air update or an improved wall adapter fitted with a thermal fuse.
“Most of the problems were fixed with the software update we did a week ago. It resolved 90-95 % cent of the issues, and the rest should be fixed by sometime next month. Our aim is no charging problems at all,” said Musk as quoted by Dagens Næringsliv.
Tesla Motors’ sales of the Model S surpassed forecasts. Sales were 20% higher than expected. Elon Musk said that he has a goal of producing 500,000 cars per year in the future.
Tesla Motors is working on adding new features to version 6 of their software including real-time traffic information, voice-activated music control, and user-selectable suspension.
