Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) uses mobile Superchargers while larger stalls are built

In Bethesda, Maryland, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) placed a mobile supercharging station. The mobile Superchargers costs the EV company only $35,000 per unit so it is possible that we will see a lot more of these in the near future.

?The Bethesda Supercharger is a Mobile Supercharging Unit designed to support customers while we complete construction of an 8-stall permanent Supercharger location in Woodbridge, Virginia opening soon,? stated Tesla Motors. It is possible that Tesla may keep this 2-stall Supercharger open even after the 8-stall permanent Supercharger location is opened in Woodbridge, Virginia.

This technology is useful for setting up charging stations when needed on-demand. For example, Tesla could place the mobile Superchargers at racing events or big Model S meet-ups.

The mobile Supercharger is located at: 7101 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda, MD 20817 and is open 24 hours per day. If two Model S vehicles are charging up at the same time, the power is split between the two points.
