Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has sold 1,793 Model S vehicles in California during Q4. The company sold 8,347 total for the year 2013 in California. This means that 1 out of every 205 vehicles sold in California was a Model S in 2013. These numbers are based on figures released by the California New Car Dealers Association.
Generally half of Tesla’s sales are in California, but the latest figures indicate that the auto company heavily focused on Europe in the last quarter. The Netherlands offered tax incentives that expired at the end of the year, which is one of the reasons why Tesla focused a lot of their efforts in that area. Tesla sold 578 vehicles in the Netherlands in December alone, but only 7 in January.
Tesla now owns 9.8% of the ?Luxury and Sports? classification in California.
