Tesla Motors Expands Supercharger Network To The East Coast

Posted Jan 4, 2013

Tesla Motors has announced that they have opened new Supercharger stations on the East Coast.  The new Supercharger stations were opened in Milford, Connecticut and Newark, Delaware.  These locations will help Tesla Motors car owners recharge when commuting between Boston and Washington D.C.  Both Supercharger stations are located at rest areas on I-95.  The Supercharger stations adds 150 miles of range to a Model S equipped with the largest battery pack (85 kWh) in 30 minutes.  This means that in one hour of charging time, a Model S can drive the 443 miles distance between Boston and D.C.  The company has a goal of building 100 Supercharger locations by 2015.
