Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) Elon Musk is taking his family on a six-day 3,200-mile journey from Los Angeles to New York City in a Model S. He will also spend 9 hours charging the vehicle total due to the improved network of high-speed Supercharger stations spread out across the United States.
Musk announced the road trip back in May. He is going to be taking the trip with his five sons. He also pointed out that he will only need to charge for an hour and a half per day and will not have to make any special stops to plug in.
“We will only ever need to charge when stopping anyway to eat or sightsee,” stated Musk on Twitter.
On top of enjoying the country in the form of a road trip, Musk also hopes that this will alleviate concerns about the limited range of the Model S.
