Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is currently hiring an engineer that would be “responsible for developing vehicle-level decision-making and lateral and longitudinal control strategies for Tesla?s effort to pioneer fully automated driving.” The job listing is for an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Controls Engineer.
Job responsibilities would be to advance Tesla’s IP and influence future architectures and control algorithms in the area of advanced driver assistant systems. The engineer would also have to define requirements for hardware and software architectures across power train and vehicle systems to ensure advanced driver assistant systems. He or she must have experience in driver assistance sensors like radar, camera, ultrasonic, and liar.
This past May, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk said that he was in talks with Google about self-driving technology. Google has been testing self-driving vehicles for years now. Musk believes in the concept, but believes that a sensor-based system that Google uses is costly. Musk plans to integrate a cheaper camera system.
