Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model S vehicles are very popular in Norway. Even the demand for a used Model S in Norway is strong and costs more than new vehicles.
Tesla Motors sold 1,493 Model S vehicles in Norway last month, according to Hegnar.no. This is a record one-month total for any car sold in Norway.
This is also more than twice the VW Golf sold for the month, which is the second place vehicle. The third place vehicle is the Nissan Leaf, which hit 425 units last month.
In 2014, 2,056 Model S vehicles were sold. By this count, Tesla Motors sold more cars in Norway this year than Ford Motor Company has. Although, Ford Motor Company dominates on a global scale, including 583,000 cars and trucks sold in the U.S. so far in 2014.
