“Critics have been effusive in their praise of the car?s power ? it can reach 60 mph in 4.2 seconds ? as well as its handling and safety. From a green perspective, naturally the car is cleaner than any traditional or hybrid vehicle because it does not emit any exhaust, but its efficiency is equally off the charts where the rubber really meets the road when it comes to carbon footprint,” wrote MPG Car Rental in their Tesla Model S rental page.
“The staff of Motor Trend estimates that Model S averaged the electric equivalent of 74.5 miles per gallon during normal city driving and an amazing 118 mpg on a Las Vegas to Los Angeles road trip. Featuring technology first envisioned in the late 19th century by legendary inventor Nikola Tesla, the Tesla Model S can be powered by widely available wall current as well as at a growing number of charging stations nationwide. It?s much discussed range goes as high as 265 miles, as certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).”
