The Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model S vehicle was the best-selling car in Norway last month. Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) sold 616 Model S vehicles in Norway last month, which gave them a 5.1% share of total sales. Around 12,168 vehicles were sold in Norway last month total.
Tesla was 20th out of 40 brands in total sales and all of their sales were of one single model. Volkswagen sold 1,512 total sales, but all of them were spread across multiple models. Plug-in vehicles took 8.6% of the market as a whole at 1,044 sales.
The two best selling electric cars sold in Norway were the Model S and the Nissan Leaf and they accounted for 85% of all plug-in sales last month.
Norway is considered the friendliest nation for electric vehicles because of incentives and tax policies there. The first Tesla Model S sold outside of the U.S. was in Norway.
