Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA): Morgan Stanley forecasts Q1 Model S deliveries of 6,468 units

Adam Jonas, an analyst at Morgan Stanley, is forecasting that the first quarter Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model S deliveries are at 6,468 units, which would be up 32% from 4,900 in the same quarter a year earlier. Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is going to announce its first quarter results on Wednesday May 7th after the closing bell.

The focus of the call will likely revolve around Model S deliveries, the status of the Model X, expansion in China, and the Gigafactory. Thomson Reuters analysts expect Tesla to report 10 cents in EPS compared to 22 cents in the same quarter last year. Revenue is expected to jump 24.4% year-over-year from $561.7 million to $699.1 million. The full year revenues are expected to increase 47% to $3.65 billion with $1.78 in EPS.

Sales in the U.S. are expected to slow down, according to Barclays analyst Brian A. Johnson. Johnson is expecting Tesla to sell 3,800 vehicles in North America during the quarter compared to 4,100 units in Q4 2013.
