Posted Aug 23, 2013

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has opened an assembly plant in Tilburg, Netherlands.  This location will serve as a new distribution site for Tesla’s European customers.

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has started to deliver their Model S sedan in Norway earlier this month.  Some of Tesla’s Dutch, German, French, and Belgian customers started to receive their Model S cars at the Tilburg facility on Thursday.

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) said that this location will be the final assembly and distribution point for Model S vehicles that are sold in Europe.  It will also be Tesla’s European service and parts headquarters.  The vehicles are shipped from the U.S. and arrive at the European plant for final assembly before it is delivered.

Tilburg is an ideal location because of it’s proximity to the port of Rotterdam. Tilburg also has high quality transportation infrastructure.
