One of the reasons why people resist buying iPads and iPad Minis is because of the cost is past one of their pain points.  For many people it is hard to justify the monthly cost of a smartphone and a tablet.  Fortunately there is an Android-based tablet that retails for only $79.99 (Amazon link).  The 7-inch Genesis Prime has a 1.1GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 4GB of storage, front-facing VGA camera, and an 800 x 480 resolution.

The Genesis Prime also has a microSD slot to allow 32GB of additional storage.  For storing data on the cloud, Ematic offers 5GB of cloud storage through Pogoplug.

Apps, movies, music, and e-books can be downloaded onto the tablet through Google Play.  If a standard black color for these types of devices do not tickle your fancy, you can buy it in various colors including black, pink, gray, purple, and red.  The tablet is expected to start shipping “within a month.”
