Posted Jun 5, 2013

At Computex 2013, ASUS announced a Transformer Book Trio laptop that is powered by Windows and Android.  The Book Trio doubles up as a tablet that can be docked.  The Book Trio has an 11.6-inch screen at 1080p.  The Book Trio also has a dedicated button that switches the operating systems.  The dedicated key only works if the tablet is linked to the keyboard dock.  Unplugging the tablet will switch the Book Trio to the Android Jelly Bean operating system.

The Book Trio has dual processors, a fourth-generation Core i7-4500U processor that powers Windows 8 and a 2GHz Intel Atom Z2580 chip that handles Android Jelly Bean.  The Book Trio also has dual batteries, a 33Wh cell and a 19Wh cell, to handle the dual operating systems.  There is a 1TB HDD inside the Book Trio and 64GB of flash storage inside of the Book Trio.

The price of the Book Trio is not yet known.  It is expected to arrive in Q3 2013.
