Mike Daisey is an actor and author that is known for a full-length off-Broadway monologue called “The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs.” Daisey was basing his monologue on a first-hand description of what he saw when visiting China in May and June 2010. Parts of his monologue inspired a segment on a program called “This American Life” in January 2012.
This was one of the most popular episodes of “This American Life” with over 880,000 downloads and 206,000 streams. However the story was retracted because it turns out that Daisey was fabricating the story that he said were true. Now Daisey is back-tracking and started justifying the lies by saying he has a “dramatic license” and that it was a different sort of truth.
Daisey said that his only mistake was allowing the radio show “This American Life” to broadcast an excerpt of his theater show. Seems like he has made some other mistakes.
