The HP Slate 7 Is Now Available In The U.S. For $169.99

We first wrote about the HP Slate 7 back in February, but there was no word at the time about when it would arrive.  The Slate 7 is now available for purchase at a price tag of $169.99.

The HP Slate 7 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, ARM Cortex A9 Dual-Core (1.6GHz), 1GB  DDR3 SDRAM, 8GB SSD internal storage, WiFi, 5 hours of video playback battery life, micro-USB connector, headphone-output (3.5mm), 7-inch WVA with multitouch display, 1024 x 600 resolution, VGA front-facing webcam with omni-directional microphone, and a 3-megapixel rear facing camera.  The audio of the tablet is powered by Beats Audio (headphones only).

The price of the Slate 7 is very competitive.  It competes head-on with the Google Nexus 7 ($199.99) and the iPad Mini ($329).  However the prices of these two competing tablets has double the storage of the Slate 7 at 16GB each.  For people that want to own a tablet, but wants to spend as little as possible for one, the Slate 7 is a great option.
