The HP Split X2 laptop-tablet hybrid is coming in July with a $599 price-tag

Hewlett Packard recently announced the new Split X2 device, which will be arriving in the U.S. on July 16th. The Split X2 is a laptop that can be split into a tablet. The Split X2 has Intel’s latest Bay Trail Intel Atom or Haswell processors with a starting price of $599.

The tablet-connecting hinge was redesigned with a new stabilizing lever compared to its predecessor. The Split X2 is also thinner and lighter than the previous version with a weight of 4.3 pounds (2.5 pounds for the tablet).

The Split X2 contains the hard drive, which can be set at up to 500GB hybrid. It also goes up to 4-8GB RAM depending on the configuration. The Split X2 is available in white, silver, or red.
