Earlier this month, Nikon announced the smallest Nikon 1 camera body thus far. The Nikon J3 can shoot 15fps and there is a Slow Video mode. The Live Image Control lets users preview effects before taking the picture. The J3 is 14.2 megapixels and it has an improved Snapshot function and an Advanced Movie mode. The Nikon J3 price is expected to be released on February 7, 2013 at a price of $649.99.
The Nikon S1 costs $100 less. The specs are just about the same as each other. They both have the same processing engine, 73-point AF array, 15fps shooting, hybrid autofocus, and ISO 6400 maximum light sensitivity. The main difference is that the S1 has 10.1 megapixels and it has a physical mode selector dial.
Both of these cameras are expected to arrive in February.
