A lot of people spend time on Facebook when they should being productive. Facebook can be pretty addictive so two MIT doctoral candidates have created a keyboard accessory that shocks you when spending too much time on the social network.
Robert R. Morris and Dan McDuff estimates that they spend around 50 hours per week on Facebook so to fight their addiction, they used the Pavlovian method. The Pavlov Poke keyboard monitors their habits when using their computers and sends shocks to their hands when spending too much time on certain websites.
“The shock is unpleasant, but it’s not dangerous,” stated McDuff. McDuff noticed a significant reduction in Facebook usage since using the keyboard.
