Towards the end of June, BlackBerry reported an $84 million net loss and it was rumored that the company will have another round of layoffs. Now the price of their flagship device called the BlackBerry Z10 has been dropped. If you are willing to sign a two-year agreement, the Z10 will cost $99 through AT&T and Verizon or $49 at Amazon.com.
“Now is the right time to adjust the price,” said a BlackBerry spokesperson in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. “It’s part of life cycle management to tier the pricing for current devices to make room for the next ones.”
This indicates that BlackBerry wants to clear out their inventory before they can start selling a second-generation device.
