The U-CAT Turtle-Like Robot Can Helps With Underwater Archaeology

Posted Nov 30, 2013

Everyone knows that turtles swim very well.  This is why the U-CAT has been designed to swim like a turtle to navigate around corals and rocks. The U-CAT was designed in Estonia.  The robot has flippers to swim around while most other underwater robots use propellers.

“Fin propulsors of U-CAT can drive the robot in all directions without disturbing water and beating up silt from the bottom, which would decrease visibility inside the shipwreck,” stated the biomimetic robot designer Taavi Salumäe.
