The Wall Street Journal has launched a Facebook application today which allows people to read content from The Wall Street Journal exclusively from within the social network. The content is ad-supported. The application is called WSJ Social and it filters through content from the publication through Facebook’s social graph to provide a tailored experience for different users.
?[I’m] really excited about news apps on Facebook and how it has the potential to change the reading and news consumption experience on the platform,? stated Facebook Journalist Project Manager Vadim Lavrusik on his wall.
WSJ Social features articles in a tile format, which consists of a thumbnail image, a headline, and other thumbnails of people that have liked specific links. At the top left-hand corner, WSJ Social displays the total number of WSJ stories that you liked and saves them for later.
