One of the most notable scenes in “The Wolf Of Wall Street” is when Jordan Belfort (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) is high on drugs and tries to crawl to his sports car in order to drive home and tell his friend Donnie that the phone has been wiretapped. Here is the scene from the movie:

This must have been one of DiCaprio’s most challenging scenes to film in his whole career because he had to act physically impaired and disabled while making it appear realistic. DiCaprio was actually inspired by a viral video on YouTube to perform by this scene called Drunkest Guy Ever Goes for More Beer. Here is that video:

“It’s not just the fact that he was sort of elasticated and trying to get [up], it was his motivation that was really intriguing. He had one singular goal, one that was to get a beer out of the 7-Eleven, and it took him a half an hour. And he was writhing around the floor. And people were watching and scratching their heads saying, ‘What are you doing?’ He just wouldn’t stop reaching for something that was a life-sustaining force for him,” said DiCaprio in an interview.

The real Jordan Belfort also gave Leo some tips.

?He said, ‘Look. You think that you’re operating the same, but the mechanics of what your brain thinks and what your body actually physically manifests are two entirely different things.’ ”

This is proof of why you should stay off drugs, kids.
