Tim Bray Of Google Urges People To Boycott Amazon Regarding E-Book Pricing

Tim Bray, the co-inventor of XML and former director of Sun Microsystems, is an employee at Google.  On his personal blog, he told people to boycott Amazon.  Bray enjoyed reading the book “Sandman Slim” by Richard Kadrey.

That book is actually a series and he was interested in reading the sequels.  Mr. Bray noticed that some people were buying the book for cheap and he was paying a lot more.  When checking for the book “Devil Said Bang,” which is one of the sequels in the book, he found out that Amazon.com gave him a higher price when he was logged in and a lower price when he was not logged in.

The “Devil Said Bang” book was showing up as $15.17 and was $9.48 when he was a “stranger.”
