Torrentz Goes From .COM To .EU In Response To Homeland Security Domain Name Seizure

Posted Dec 19, 2010

Torrentz.com, the second largest BitTorrent website on the Internet, has changed their .COM domain name to .EU. This is a response to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s recent seizures of domain names. Recently Torrent-Finder.com’s domain name was taken over by the U.S. government so they switched over to Torrent-Finder.info. About two years ago Torrentz.com was hit by a hostile domain take-over from a hacker, but they resolved the issue quickly. [TorrentFreak]
