Toys ‘R’ Us Launches An Android-Based Tablet: Tabeo

Just when you thought every company that would consider building a tablet is already has already done it, Toys “R” Us has started building their own tablet known as the Tabeo.  The $150 Tabeo will be branded by Toys “R” Us and it will have parental controls and 50 pre-installed apps including Angry Birds, Cut The Rope, and Temple Run.

The Tabeo will be WiFi only and has 4GB of built in storage, microSD slot for expanded storage, 1GB RAM, and USB port.  The tablet can be connected to the TV using an HDMI port.  The tablet uses a 1GHz single-core processor and runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich.  The Tabeo has a 7-inch LCD touchscreen with an 800×480 resolution.

The battery life lasts for around 10 hours.  You can pre-order right now and the device will start shipping on October 1st.  The tablet will hit retail stores on October 21.
