Trover Raises $2.5 Million Round, Led By Concur

Trover Inc.
is a website and application that focuses on travel, culture, and photography.  The company has raised $2.5 million in Series One financing.


Travel and expense management company Concur Technologies led this round of funding through the Concur Perfect Trip Fund.  Existing investors General Catalyst Partners, Benchmark Capital, Trover co-founder Rich Barton, and several angel investors also participated in this round.

Concur co-founder and senior vice president Michael Hilton is joining Trover’s board of directors.

Trover will be using the funding to accelerate their community growth and to improve social connections across their network.  They will also refine the tools available to members to publish content.

Trover recently released a new version of the iPhone app.  Trover 1.5.1 helps streamline the navigation through places and photos.  The app also makes it possible for like-minded members to share insights.

Trover has hundreds of thousands of photos from over 1,500 cities and remote locations.  Trover was founded by CEO Jason Karas and chairman Rich Barton.  Barton previously founded Expedia and co-founded Zillow.
