Twitter is appealing a lawsuit where they were ordered to hand information over regarding Occupy Wall Street protestor Malcolm Harris. Twitter legal counsel Ben Lee said that the request “doesn’t strike the right balance between the rights of users and the interests of law enforcement.”
Twitter filed to void the subpoena where they were requested to turn over information regarding Harris’ account. Harris was arrested in October and Twitter was asked for his information in May.
A judge ruled that the government’s request did not seem like an unreasonable burden on their service. We’ll see what happens after Twitter appeals.
