Twitter counts their tweet volume in tweets per minute. Twitter reported that 24.1 million tweets was sent out about the game and the halftime show. After Beyonce’s halftime show concluded, around 268,000 tweets about it was being sent out per minute.
The end of the game generated around 183,000 tweets per minute (TPM) and the 108-yard kickoff touchdown return by Ravens player Jacoby Jones hit around 185,000 TPM.
The touchdown and the end of the game was overshadowed by the power outage that took place during the game with 231,500 TPM. The most mentioned players in the game include Ray Lewis (@Raylewis), Joe Flacco (@teamflacco), Colin Kaepernick (@Kaepernick7) and Jacoby Jones.
On Twitter’s blog, they also highlighted how brands took advantage of the power outage to release some creative promotions like Oreo, Tide, and Calvin Klein. Check out the tweets below:
