Twitter has launched their Vine video social network on the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet over the weekend. The app is available as a free download on the Amazon Appstore. Vine launched on iOS first and Android around four weeks ago.
Vine has to become increasingly competitive because Facebook’s Instagram released a video service of their own to complement their already dominant photo social network service. The Vine app allows users to take 6 second looping video clips while the Instagram app lets you take 15 seconds.
The Twitter Vine app on the Kindle Fire has the same version number as the Vine app on the Google Play Store (1.2.0). The Amazon Kindle Fire Vine app supports front-facing cameras, the ability to search users and hashtags, and the ability to share on Facebook.
