Hackers have penetrated a database belonging to Ubisoft, which causes the usernames, e-mail addresses, and passwords of users to be exploited. Ubisoft is recommending that all of their users change their passwords immediately. Ubisoft has reassured users that their credit cards and debit cards have not been obtained. Payment information is never stored on their databases.
“We recently discovered that one of our Web sites was exploited to gain unauthorised access to some of our online systems. During this process, we learned that data had been illegally accessed from our account database,” said Ubisoft on the company blog.
As soon as Ubisoft learned about the hack attack, they turn off the access point. They are now working with authorities to restore their systems and attempt to determine who was behind the attack. The company is also strengthening their security measures now.
