UPS To Start Offering 3D Printing In Retail Stores

Posted Aug 1, 2013

United Parcel Service (UPS) is usually known for being a service where you ship packages.  Soon UPS will start offering a service where retail store patrons can make 3D prints.

Soon six UPS stores will get Stratasys uPrint SE Plus printers.  Other UPS stores in the U.S. will get the 3D printers in the near future.  According to The Verge, UPS decided to start offering 3D printing after polling small business owners.  The small businesses were looking for ways to create prototypes or other promotional materials.

UPS said that Stratasys’ hardware offers a level of detail that exceeds home 3D printers.
