General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) has named Uwe Ellinghaus as the Cadillac chief marketing officer for Global Cadillac. Ellinghaus will oversee the lead global strategic marketing and brand building. The appointment is effect January 1st.

Previously, Ellinghaus was the EVP of marketing and sales at Montblanc International. Montblanc International is a luxury design and accessory brand based in Hamburg, Germany. Ellinghaus also worked in several marketing leadership positions at BMW AG from 1998 to 2012. He was the chief marketing officer for BMW’s brand strategy between 2010 and 2012 where he oversaw the company’s marketing services for the MINI and Rolls-Royce brands.
