Music video website VEVO is launching a TV channel called VEVO TV. VEVO TV will be running 24 hours per day and seven days per week. The company will air hour-long blocks of music videos with different themes like one hour of pop music straight.
VEVO TV will be accessible from a prominent window on the bottom-lefthand corner of the website and can be expanded to full screen. The VEVO app on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Xbox, and Roku has been updated to provide the service.
Michael Cerda, the VP of Product & Engineering at VEVO, said that many young people have never experienced the heyday of music video channels. VEVO allows users to save songs to their personal playlist if they like the songs.
VEVO will be running video ads after every few videos. The launch sponsors include McDonalds and State Farm. VEVO TV will be available in the U.S. and Canada.
