Vevo’s monthly viewership jumps almost 50% to 6 billion per month

Vevo is an online music video website that is a joint venture of two of the largest music labels. The website has seen almost a 50% increase in the number of music videos streamed each month from its platform.

Vevo, run by Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment, hit around 6 billion views in December. This is a 46% rise from a year earlier. Google also holds a minority stake in Vevo.

Around 65% of the videos are watched on mobile devices. Of the 6 billion music videos that are streamed every month, 5 billion are outside of the U.S. The top countries include U.K. and Germany.

Vevo is currently offered in over 13 countries and it will soon be rolled out in Mexico. Vevo’s most watched video is “Baby” by Justin Bieber. The top viewed video last year was Pink’s “Just Give Me a Reason”.
