SpaceX, the commercial space exploration company founded by Elon Musk, has successfully launched and landed the F9R. In this video, you will see the shuttle rising 250 meters and then landing next to the launch pad. This launch happened in Texas. The F9R is described as the “Falcon 9 v1.1 first stage with legs.” SpaceX wants to make this shuttle reusable. SpaceX may eventually move its testing to New Mexico so that it can be tested at higher altitudes. SpaceX is also launching the Dragon later today, which is carrying 4,000 pounds of supplies for astronauts at the International Space Station.
