VigLink is a content monetization service that has raised $18 million in Series C funding led by RRE Ventures with participation from Google Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Silicon Valley Bank, Emergence Capital, and First Round Capital. RRE?s Eric Wiesen will be joining the VigLink Board of Directors.

Publishers work with VigLink to connect their links to products and replaces them with affiliate codes that trigger payments when a reader clicks through and makes a purchase. VigLink makes the affiliate process easier for publishers.

VigLink can turn normal links into affiliate links and insert new affiliate links into website text. VigLink works with 300,000 websites including CNET, Road & Track, and Elle along with 35,000 merchants. VigLink processes more than 500 million clicks per month.

Last fall, VigLink launched VigLink Exchange, which has a competitive bidding process among merchants. The one that offers the biggest payment to the publisher gets the link. VigLink plans to use the funding to “double down” on the exchange and grow in Europe and Asia.
