Vin Diesel, one of the stars of the Fast and Furious franchise, has announced on Facebook that Fast and Furious 7 will be hitting theaters on April 10, 2015. The movie was originally going to be released in July 2014, but Paul Walker tragically passed away in a car accident on November 30th. Walker played the agent Brian O’Connor in the franchise. Below is a post that Diesel put on Facebook of him and Walker. Diesel wrote: “P.S. He’d want you to know first?”
After Walker passed away, Universal Pictures had to make a decision on what to do with the franchise. Universal started to film the movie in September, but went on break during the Thanksgiving holiday.
“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers. At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.”
