VoIP Inc. Suing Google Over Trade Secrets

Posted Feb 18, 2011

VoIP Inc. is suing Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) in the New York Supreme Court on Monday. VoIP is accusing Google of stealing trade secrets related to online voice technology. The litigation is related to a September 2005 contract. VoIP subsidiary VoiceOne Communications Corp. agreed to license Google with their “Click to Call” technology. This allows Internet users to call advertisers by clicking a link on a website. VoIP is currently going through bankruptcy proceedings. Google is saying that they terminated the agreement in 2007 due to the company violating a nondisclosure agreement revealing that the search engine company was a client. [Reuters]
