VSP Vision Care and Diane Von Furstenberg are partnering with each other on a Pinterest campaign. VSP will donate around 1,000 certificates for free eye exams and glasses to certain users that repine from their #PinToGiveAndGet board. Proceeds will be given to youth that are in need through the New York City Mission Society. This charity was chosen by Diane Von Furstenberg. Each giveaway is worth around $385, making the total worth around $385,000.
“We’ve been following what other brands are doing on Pinterest and we saw a lot of brands dabling in Pin It To Win It and Pin To Give,” said Julie Berge, a PR exec at VSP in an interview with Mashable. “Being a not-for-profit, and our ability to provide eye exams, we thought Pinterest would be a fun platform to experiment with, and it’s a space we thought we could make a big impact.”
Participants are also entered into winning a free pair of DVF sunglasses each week and one $500 gift card to use on DVF.com. This campaign launched last month and is running through the end of the month.
