Walker Digital, an intellectual property protection company founded by Priceline.com Incorporated (NASDAQ:PCLN) founder Jay Walker has filed 15 lawsuits against 100+ companies, which includes eBay, Groupon, Walmart, Sony, and Apple over patents. Walker Digital said that their inventions are covered by over 400 issued and pending U.S. and foreign patents. These inventions generate direct licensing revenues of over $200 million.

“Filing these lawsuits is not a step we sought or preferred,” stated Walker Digital CEO Jon Ellenthal. “We have reached out to a wide range of companies that are engaging in commercial activities that clearly depend on inventions created and owned by Walker Digital. Unfortunately, many of these companies have refused to engage in meaningful negotiations that acknowledge the market value they derive from the use of our property.”
