Warby Parker, the glasses e-commcere company, announced on Wednesday that it had distributed 1 million pairs of glasses to people in need through its “Buy a Pair, Give a Pair” program.
Warby Parker was founded in 2010. Warby Parker tallies the number of glasses sold every month and then makes a donation of an amount that will cover that number of glasses to non-profit partners like VisionSpring.
VisionSpring trains people in developing countries to give eye exams and distribute glasses. This milestone means that Warby Parker sold 1 million pairs of glasses.
Around 500,000 were sold in the last year alone. Warby Parker also has retail locations across the country, including some mini-stores in other retail stores.
