Why The iPhone 5 Vibrates Louder

Posted Sep 28, 2012

If you own an iPhone 5, you may notice that it vibrates louder than its predecessor devices.  The reason why is because the vibration component in the iPhone 5 is actually older and outdated.  The vibration component in the iPhone 4S allowed for quiet and smoother vibrations, but the one that is in the iPhone 5 is the same one that is used in the  iPhone 4.This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. A more intense vibration means it’s easier to feel in your pocket. But a louder vibration could be a little obnoxious in a movie theater or at the office.  So why did Apple use an older component.  It is probably because the older vibration unit is smaller than the the one that is used in the 4S and Apple has to make that Apple iPhone 5 light and thin somehow.
