Xerox Corporation (NYSE:XRX)has acquired LearnSomething Inc., a company that designs custom e-learning solutions for the food, drug, and healthcare industries. The acquisition enables Xerox to expand their services into these broad range of industries. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, LearnSomething delivers industry information and educational programs to around 85% of all U.S. retail pharmacy chains and reaches over 110,000 retail pharmacists. Food and drug retailers uses LearnSomething’s e-learning platform Learner Community for regulatory compliance courses.
“Xerox became one of the largest providers of customer care services to the pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare industries when we acquired TMS Health in 2010,” stated Xerox’s commercial services business COO Connie Harvey. “The addition of LearnSomething broadens our capabilities tailored for these fast-growing industries and gives our clients the advantage of a progressive e-learning platform for the rapid deployment of relevant information and education tools.”
Pharmaceutical manufacturers uses LearnSomething’s Advisor software to deliver instant messages about new and updated products to pharmacy and retail staff at a majority of the retail pharmacy chain stores. This enables pharmacists, technicians, and sales associates to become better experienced and prepared at engaging with consumers and answering questions about new drugs, OTC products, and wellness products. There are about 500 new OTC medications and health/beauty products that arrive on shelves every year.
