Xiaomi launched a new handset around a week ago called the Xiaomi Redmi Note. This handset arrived in China first, but the company has a goal of expanding from there. The Redmi is priced at around $129.
The low price is one of the reasons why the company hit over 100,000 units sold in around 34 minutes. The Redmi has a 5.5-inch display, 1280x720p HD resolution, MediaTek octa-core processor (1.7GHz), 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 3200mAh battery, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
